Ashlyn Dyer Foundation Update

February 25, 2008

Dear Ashlyn Dyer Foundation Supporters,

We would personally like to express our gratitude to each of you for your support for the Ashlyn Dyer Foundation. Our hearts are warmed by your positive response and your willingness to support and make a real difference in memory of Ashlyn.

As we approach the second year anniversary of her passing, we would like to make you aware of several developments since our first fundraising event in Phoenix, June, 2006.

We will always be grateful to the Marin Community Foundation for assisting us in constructing the Ashlyn Dyer Fund during the most trying days following her accident. However, given new tax laws that place greater restrictions on entities such as the Marin Community Foundation, we made the strategic decision to move the fund back to Arizona and form our own 501©3 entity for the Ashlyn Dyer Foundation. This will allow us greater flexibility to conduct the types of awareness raising and fundraising activities for Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) that will be a crucial component of our mission.

The law firm of Jones Day, LLC has generously served as legal counsel for the Foundation during this transition on a pro bono basis. The Foundation extends a special thank you to Lara Kollios for her help in this task. The application to the IRS for the Foundation was approved last fall.

We have developed a banking relationship through Wells Fargo Bank with an investment account and now have the ability to accept credit card donations on the website by following this link: http://www.ashlyndyer.com/donate/ .Visitors to the site will also be able to purchase “TBI” awareness items on the website in the near future. The Foundation would like to thank Reed Hecht and his expertise for the web site design and keeping it current.

To date, we have had several events raising awareness for Traumatic Brain Injury which are posted on the website. Upcoming events include: The Presidio Run in San Francisco April 6th, 2008 (http://www.presidio10.com/), dedication of the hospital rooms at San Francisco General Hospital in Ashlyn’s name. (Monies for this are not coming from the Foundation.) Distribution of ID tags, wrist bands, visors and t-shirts at public events, and a donation from the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at the University of Southern California.

Our goals are to keep the Ashlyn Dyer Foundation ongoing, and to continue raising the awareness for Traumatic Brain Injury- the silent epidemic that strikes someone every 15 seconds. We hope to have a fundraiser on Oct. 24, 2008, which would be Ashlyn’s 30th birthday, and develop a speaker’s bureau that can educate the public.

We appreciate all that you have done and look for your continued support. If you are interested in being involved in a fundraising or awareness event please do not hesitate to contact us.

With warm regards,

Ashlyn Dyer Foundation Board of Directors
